The one thing I wish high school seniors wouldn’t stress about before their photos

Last week, I took a poll on my Instagram account. Answering these polls means the world to me because it is my way of checking in with my followers.

I asked what is the reason holding you back from booking a senior session. Several of you said you were too nervous or that you might feel awkward. Instead of sharing my own thoughts on this, I went straight to a few of my Greenville high school senior clients I have worked with and asked them how I made them feel comfortable. Here’s what a few of them said…

“As someone who was a little nervous to do a photoshoot at first, I was completely comfortable during our session. I think you demonstrating and helping me get into poses really put me at ease. Additionally, I loved how after a couple shots, you would show me what they looked like. That’s how I knew we were definitely achieving my vision and how I wanted it to look!! I loved seeing myself and the background and how we were able to adjust to get the best pictures!”

“I loved that you had reference photos I could look at to really see what you were trying to have me do and as someone who never takes pictures like that, it really helped me and you were super nice right off the bat and I could tell you really love what you do”

“Before the shoot, I was pretty nervous. I usually dont know how to pose and feel awkward but I appreciated so much how you let me know that you get nervous too and helped me throughout the entire shoot to feel more comfortable. You told me exactly how to pose and even showed me some of the pictures through the shoot which most photographers dont do. It was such a great experience, it felt natural and fun. I will definitely come back for any shoots I need in the future”

I am incredibly thankful for the feedback they have shared with me on what I am doing right to make the session comfortable and enjoyable because I certainly love every single minute of it!
