Best Places in Greenville SC for Urban Photos

I was really excited for Megan’s senior session and here is why…

I love that she chose downtown Greenville for her portrait location. It hit me just last month that the reason I’m drawn to these sessions downtown is because I love buildings, doors, walkways, anything to frame or make my subject stand out. I’m such a sucker for architecture when it comes down to it. I was always the girl with her head tilted back in complete awe when I would visit any major city. I couldn’t get enough of the sights. Some things never change.

You simply cannot go wrong when you choose to have your senior pictures in any urban setting and downtown Greenville does not disappoint. I love finding cool doors to really frame my seniors. I love putting them on steps to get dimension. I love having them lean on railings and give them a place to put their hands. Do not get me started on the brick building vibes that I’m absolutely addicted to. There is so much variety to choose from so you can never get bored. In fact, I went overboard with our time limit for this session.

But back to Megan. I loved getting to know her (and her Mom) in the weeks leading up to her session. It turns out that Megan has a little bit of a love for photography herself so maybe that’s why I felt comfortable enough to totally get creative. So everywhere I looked turned into “just one more picture”! I’m so guilty of this!! (sorry Megan!)

She is a senior at Wade Hampton high school and plans to go to college for her nursing degree after she graduates. She also has a passion for playing the piano and loves hanging with friends.

This was her first time being in front of the camera by herself and she looked like a model - knowing how to take my cues and looking incredibly comfortable. But the end of the session, she was reading my mind with the little tweaks I would have.

Perhaps her and I clicked so well because we both love photography. Or maybe it was simply because she has such a chill personality that I was able to just let my creative ideas flow. You know you’re having a good time when you completely lose track of time.

One thing is for sure. I’m in trouble with this session because I could include every single shot in her gallery. The challenge will be trying to figure out how to narrow down the best images because they are all soooo soooo good! But this is a great problem to have!!

I will always say the best part of my job is getting to meet people like Megan (and her Mom) which makes every single minute of my job worth it. I love meeting and getting to know all of my clients! Someone pinch me that I get to do this job for a living!!
