Megan’s Senior Session - Greenville Senior Photographer
Let me share with you how all of this came together for this INCREDIBLE senior photo session!
I received a senior portrait inquiry and she asked if I had availability to photograph her senior session at a barn with her Aunt’s horse. My eyes had to quickly read that over about five times. Is this really happening?
Now, for those of you who dont know, my love for horses is very real and started in the 4th grade. I began taking riding lessons and even jumping too! My parents eventually bought me my first horse when I was in the 7th grade and after that, all of my research projects at school were about horses, all of my scribbles turned into drawings of horses and I showed my Aunt’s miniature horses. I would come home from school and run outside into our pasture and jump up on my horse to ride her around the fields bareback with just her halter.
So back to this inquiry that came in. I tried to keep it cool and put together a low key excited response so I didn’t look like a crazy person. “Yes, I’m available and I would love to photograph your senior session at a barn with a horse. This sounds like fun!” After I sent the reply, I had to sit and wait and hope and pray. Please let me be the one!
Fast forward to the actual day before our session. I drove out to this small town about 30 minutes south of Greenville SC to location scout the barn. I had about 10 more minutes in the drive and my eyes wandered off the road and I saw the back of a strip of buildings. It looked a little run down because it was just the back door entrances for employees so it didn’t have to look all fancy but it was fancy enough for me! It had some bold blues and some cool white walls. I pulled over. I was really starting to see some magic come together. I was hoping Megan would be down for half of her pictures to be with her horse and then the other half could be in this area that I found.
So I text her these pictures of the back of the buildings with this long explanation of how I plan to use this space and waited for her response. “Sure, that sounds great - I’m up for anything”.
Now, the day of the session we even lucked out with cooler temps that night. I’m talking a high of 87 instead of a high of 97 degrees. We loved it!
I’ve rambled enough. But there are reasons why I love each and every single senior session. I loved Megan’s style and her personality. She is competing in her first talent show soon and I can’t wait to see how she did!
Go ahead and enjoy these images from her senior portrait session. I know I can’t get enough of them! Feel free to scroll right down to the pictures of her and Buster!
