Yes, that’s right. Your next family photo session will be at your house. Running a little late and you need to fix your little girl’s hair, that’s okay! If I arrive before her hair is done, let’s capture that. Baby still sleeping and just needs a few more minutes, that’s okay! Let’s capture that!
I mean, this is real life, right? The life of every single one of us out there trying to balance it all.
Friends, here are my top 3 reasons why I LOVE in home lifestyle family sessions. Get ready because I packed in a whole lot of goodness with the information I’m about to include.
#1 - Outfits:
You can wear anything you’d like at any time during the year. Do you have a beautiful sleeveless dress that you want to wear for a family session mid-December. Wear it! It does get a little chilly in Greenville SC in the winter months but that does not matter with an in-home session. Just turn up the thermostat in the house. I’m also going to sneak in and say this, barefoot is best for indoor sessions! Seriously. So now you don’t have to plan out the shoes to go with everyone’s outfits. You’re welcome!
#2 - Activities:
This reason has endless ideas. Do you have some natural light near your bathtub? Let’s get a bubble bath going and put the kiddos in the tub for some unforgettable moments. Is it summertime and you want to capture what your family does best - eat popsicles on the back porch and have squirt gun fights? Sign me up! Want to capture the everyday moments while they are little playing with their favorite toys, snuggling mom reading their favorite books and getting horsey rides from dad? What about a home that has natural light in their kitchen? I’m telling you lets bake some cookies and play some Christmas music. Your kiddos will love this uninterrupted, intentional time with you, I promise you that.
Family portraits do not have to only be at a local park in fields for it to have meaning. In fact, there’s something to be said about how comfortable our children are in their own home.
#3 - Unique Portraits:
Say goodbye to cookie cutter portraits! When you have an in-home lifestyle session, you will no longer have the usual family pictures like everyone else. These will be unique to your family in your home. This captures the exact life you live right now. Years from now you may forget all of these little moments that fill your day to day BUT a lifestyle session can absolutely freeze this moment in time for you.
